My 11-year-old struggled with her priorities. So my husband and I purchased a medium-sized tote to hold our daughter's MP3 player, video game controllers and other electronic devices. If her grades were acceptable and she did her chores, she received the tote after school on Friday. If not, she didn't. The tote motivated her to be responsible without arguing.
