Young children love repetition-repetition-repetition. My toddler would ask me to read him the same books over and over, quickly memorizing every word. So I decided to use his love of repetition to teach him the Bible.
Each night I read an ABC book that had a short Bible verse for each letter. Before long, when my toddler saw letters, in soup or cereal for example, he would say, "A — All have sinned," "B — Be content" or "C — Cast all your care on Him." Although he didn't yet grasp every meaning, he could recite all our alphabet verses by the time he turned 3. Helping him hide God's Word in his heart was worth the effort-effort-effort.
